This wine's story
Like many ultimately successful projects, this one started as a little seed of an idea. This idea was to grow high-quality Rioja and sell them to upmarket boutique wineries. This particular idea was held tightly by the Spanish couple, Francisco and Julia, who bounced it back and forth over many a late night bottle of Tempranillo. Finally, in 2000, they pressed go on their plan.
And like many ideas, a stroke of luck changed its course. In 2001, Spain was hit be a grape crisis, which gave Francisco and Julia the opportunity to double down and open their own winery.
What started out as a seed of an idea is now considered one of the Rioja region's modern wine success stories.
Tempranillo is known for its savoury flavours and always works well with its local Spanish cuisine... like oily roasted vegetables and cured Jamón. Below is a match with a local twist… prosciutto and feta wrapped lamb cutlets.
This Tempranillo is a vibrant, modern style, packed with blackberry and dark raspberry flavours, with a lick of spice on the back of the palate.
