This wine's story

Set in the Geelong sub region, Clyde Park was originally established in 1979 by legendary wine maker Greg Farr. He passed down his quality vines to the current owners Terry and Sue Jongebloed who have been stoutly upholding his quality traditions for the last 15 years.

With some of the oldest wines in the region, all the pruning, picking and sorting is done by hand. However, when it comes to letting the grapes do the talking they are strictly "hands off" which they say ensures the best flavours are captured in each bottle with minimum interference from the maker.

Sommelier Notes

Clyde Park are one of the pioneers of Pinot Noir in this pocket of Victoria, having first planted vines back in the late 1970s! This wine shows off their expertise beautifully - an intriguing nose of cherry, raspberry and dark chocolate, backed by a silky palate that is nuanced with notes of anise and woodsmoke. Plenty going on here, and certainly one of our more complex wines.

Team Notes

As far as lighter red wines go, this one is difficult to beat!
